April 5, 1923: "A new State fire tower is being erected on Sherman's Mountain, eleven and one-half miles southwest of Blain." (The Evening News)
April 6, 1923: "A fire tower, sixty feet high has been completed by the State Forestry Department, on Sherman's Mountain, eleven and one-half miles southwest of Blain." (Harrisburg Telegraph)
August 26, 1975: "NOTICES: The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources, Bureau of Forestry, offers for sale to the highest bidder, for removal. Shermans Mountain Fire Tower, Toboyne Township, Perry County.
