April 24, 1937: "Announcement was made today of the promotion of two CCC youths from Camp 3, Red Bridge, to Forest Service employment. Joseph Bestor has been named junior assistant technician and is to be transferred to Camp 10, at Ridgway, on timber survey. Frank Kiess has been named regular lookout on the Marshburg fire tower." July 26, 1939: "The Allegheny National Forest officials have sent a man to the Marshburg tower already. No forest fires have been reported in this county, although several fires have been reported in adjacent counties. Fire towers are in use in Elk and Warren counties." (Bradford Era)
