(Indiana Evening Gazette)
February 9, 1935: "Construction of an 80-foot fire tower at Penn View near Blairsville will be continued with CCC camp labor as soon as weather moderates. Charles E. Zerby, forester of the Gallitzin district, announced last night.
Youths from the Blue Hole Camp in Somerset County will be employed on the work. The same group is at present erecting a tower near Uniontown. Foundations have already been poured at the Penn View site.
Forester Zerby said the work would be completed in time for use in the spring, when danger of forest fires begins." (The Indiana Gazette)
