MARYLAND LOOKOUTS
MADONNA
Harford County
February 20, 1932: "Erection of a fire tower in the northwestern section of Harford county has been urged by State Forester F.W. Besley. Such a tower, he said, would protect important woodland areas on the headwaters of Deer Creek in Harford county and on Gunpowder River in Baltimore county.
He urged that the necessary funds be subscribed by interested citizens, the county commissioners and the State. Forest Warden Nelson W. Morse of Forest Hill has already started a campaign in his section to obtain financial backing." (The Evening Journal)
