October 21, 1933: "Yesterday surveyors did preliminary work on Kellogg Mountain, near Weston for a fire tower, C.A. Waltz, federal government superintendent of field work, stated." (The Evening Times)
November 16, 1933: "Fire Inspector George Emery announces that another fire tower is to be erected in Bradford county. Its location will be on the north end of Kellogg mountain, about two and one half miles from Weston station. It is to be 80 feet high with room at the top, which makes it 99 feet 9 inches over all. About twenty five miles may bee seen from its top. The steel frame work for the tower has already arrived, and a stone cabin will be constructed nearby for the care taker." September 13, 1934: "An 80-foot fire tower is being erected on a point on Kellogg mountain which will provide a lookout for all of central and southeastern Bradford county. Fire inspector George D. Emery announces that the CCC youths have completed a road from Weston to the site and the concrete base already has been built.
Through a special grant, the keeper's cabin will be constructed of stone with a fireplace and porch, the only one of the kind in the state. The tower is on state game lands leased by the Forestry Department." (Press and Sun-Bulletin)
September 20, 1934: "An 80-foot tower is being erected on Kellogg mountain on lands leased by the Forestry Department from part of State Game Lands in Bradford county. The base already has been constructed and it is expected the steel work will be completed in time for the tower to be put into use this fall." (Tunkhannock New Age)
December 20, 1934: "The new fire tower on the top of Kellogg Mountain, near Weston, is now complete. It was built by the boys of the C.C.C. camp at LaQuin. The mountain is 1350 feet high and the tower rises 82 feet above that, with a 100 foot flagpole surmounting all. From the top of the tower one gets a sweeping view as far as Elmira, Canton and other towns in every direction." (Tunkhannock New Age)
April 23, 1935: "Harry W. Wilcox of Monroeton has been appointed towerman for the new fire tower erected on Kellogg Mountain last year by the Laquin CCC workers.
It is expected that the necessary equipment will be placed in the office at the top of the tower and the telephone connection made some time within a week." (Star-Gazette)
May 16, 1936: "The 387th company (CCC) constructed many new roads, built the fire tower on Kellogg mountain and published a camp newspaper by mimeograph." (The Evening Times)

February 27, 1940: "Edward Hoffman of Towanda, keeper of the Kellogg fire tower, reported that he and Fred Wells, district forester, saw a robin while they were engaged in digging a path to the tower through drifts four-feet deep last week." (Star-Gazette)
April 8, 1941: "To make communication as fool proof as possible in times of future emergency the Pennsylvania Department of Forests and Waters has installed an ultra high frequency radio communication system for the entire Susquehanna river basin which will not only serve the needs of flood warning but forest fire protection as well.
A 100-watt relay station has been established on the fire tower at Kellogg Mountain." (Harrisburg Telegraph)
April 4, 1946: "Bradford county has one fire tower, on Kellogg mountain, which can be reached by telephone, James D. Rundell is in charge." (The Evening Times)
October 28, 1952: "Visibility was practically zero yesterday at the Kellogg Mountain fire tower and it was for that reason that all fire reports had to be followed up by sending out fire fighting crews to investigate.
The fire toweris being manned now by Robert Brennan of Monroeton each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fires may be reported to him there." (Towanda Daily Review)

THIS STATION WAS POSITIONED BY INTERSECTION IN 1958. THE STATION IS
THE CENTER OF THE BASE OF THE 85 FOOT HIGH LOOKOUT TOWER, 6
MILES NORTH-NORTHWEST OF NEW ALBANY, 2 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF
MONROETON, 1 MILE WEST OF U.S. HIGHWAY 220 AND ON A HIGH,
WOODED RIDGE OF KELLOGG MOUNTAIN.
A TRAVERSE CONNECTION WAS MADE TO TRIANGULATION STATION KELLOGG,
DISTANCE BEING 238.71 FEET (72.760 METERS) NORTHWEST OF
STATION KELLOGG.
THE REFERENCE MARK NUMBER 2 FOR TRIANGULATION STATION KELLOGG IS SET
NEAR THE CENTER OF THE BASE OF THE LOOKOUT TOWER.
