January 17, 1937: "The steel for the framework is on the ground where each tower will be erected. Workmen are preparing to pour concrete for the foundations now.
An 80-foot tower will be erected on Tick Ridge, in Cabwaylingo state forest, Wayne county. This will be the farthest west of all such observation points in the state. It will overlook the watershed of Twelvepole creek in Wayne, Cabell, Lincoln and Mingo counties." (Bluefield Daily Telegraph)
