April 1936: The erection of a 99-foot 9-inch steel tower was begun by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the $1,978.36 cost was funded by the Emergency Conservation Works program. (Department of Conservation and Development - 6th Biennial Report 1934-36)
July 10, 1936: Men from the CCC Camp P-67 completed a five room frame house 30 x 36 feet for the lookout man. (Department of Conservation and Development - 7th Biennial Report - 1938)
August 8, 1936: The tower construction was completed by members of CCC Camp P-67. (Department of Conservation and Development - 7th Biennial Report - 1938)
