THE STATION IS LOCATED 8 MILES SOUTHWEST OF HERMAN, 6 MILES
EAST-NORTHEAST OF SIDNAW, 3/4 MILE NORTHWEST OF COVINGTON ON A HIGH
HILL WHERE THE COVINGTON LOOKOUT TOWER PREVIOUSLY STOOD, ON
PROPERTY OWNED BY THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES.
A TRAVERSE CONNECTION WAS MADE TO TRIANGULATION STATION
COVINGTON, DISTANCE BEING 59.22 FEET OR 18.050 METERS EAST OF
STATION COVINGTON. THE MARK IS A U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY DISK
STAMPED COVINGTON LOOKOUT 1951 R 1959, SET IN THE TOP OF A 4-INCH
SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT THAT IS FLUSH WITH THE GROUND SURFACE.
IT IS 2 FEET WEST OF A METAL WITNESS POST AND UNDER THE PREVIOUS
CENTER OF THE COVINGTON LOOKOUT TOWER.
