January 24, 1934: "During the present year, much advantage is anticipated from the operation of the new fire towers. Of particular value to Ross county woodlands will be the new tower on Brush Ridge in northern Harrison township which is just completed. The tower will be of great help in the early discovery and suppression of fires all over eastern Ross county, western Vinton, and western Hocking." (Chillicothe Gazette)
