October 26, 1939: "The Bloss Mt. Tower was formerly located on Maple Hill.
Bloss Mountain Tower is 80 feet high, and will probably be a popular observation point because of its easy access and magnificent view. The number '82' appearing at the top of the tower is a guide mark for a commercial airline. An attractive stone cabin is now being built near the tower for the observer, who will be on duty four or five months a year. The tower is now finished and ready for installation of the radio system to connect it with the district office and other towers." (The Wellsboro Agitator)
