BARROW
Georgia - Barrow County - Georgia Forestry Commission
February 10, 1995: The Georgia House of Representatives passed and adopted a resolution that allowed the lookout site, approximately two acres, to be leased to the City of Winder for use as a fire station. The parcel owned by the state is located within the boundaries of the Fort Yargo State Park. The terms of the lease were that the City provide garbage service to the park at no charge as payment. The state forestry commission still maintains the right to utilize the tower and facilities during periods of extreme fire hazard.
