January 7, 2006: "This past winter one year ago, the city purchased the land from the state. The park is now under the city's umbrella of the Division of Leisure Services.
The city paid the state $67,000 for a total of five acres, two buildings, a warehouse space and the old fire tower that stretches high above the treetops of even the tallest, oldest trees in the park." (Crestview News Bulletin)
