1916: "E.H. Decker, Chamberlain and Eagle Lake Territory, Piscataquis County--I have built a lookout station on Allagash Mt. also a camp at the foot of the mountain for the watchman. I have put up nine miles of telephone wire and took down four miles of old line to go from Indian Pond Brook to Chamberlain Farm. Made new trail across Twp. 9, R. 13, and R. 14, and put three hundred porcelains on the old wire." (1916 Forest Commissioner's Report)
1919: On Allagash Mountain in Twp. No. 7 R.. 14, Piscataquis County. This is a log tower, built in 1916." (Forest Protection and Conservation in Maine, 1919)
1920: Inventory shows a 20-foot wood tower.
July 22, 1924: "After the tower on Mount Abram is completed the construction crew will erect a 27-foot tower on Allagash Mountain in Township 7, Range 14 in Piscataquis county." (Daily Kennebec Journal)
