October 18, 1940: "Forest Guard Roland Cleveland has been transferred from Androscoggin Ranger District to fill the guard position in the upper East Branch Valley on this District. Roland will be temporarily assigned as lookout man on the Grandview fire tower until Charlie Cummings has sufficiently recovered from his appendix operation to resume his duties at that station."
