KENTUCKY LOOKOUTS
PLEASANT HILL
Muhlenberg County
November 21, 1947: "Telephone communication have hampered efficient detection of fires and communication at the Pleasant Hill tower located near Graham in Muhlenberg County. Plans were completed for the construction of three and one half miles of telephone line from Pleasant Hill tower to State Highway No. 62. Mr. Bryant manager of Bell Telephone Company at Central City stated that plans had been made to extend their service West along Highway No. 62 to a point which will permit connection with proposed telephone line to Pleasant Hill fire tower.
Wagoner stated that the work on the state telephone line would commence in the near future. Telephone communication with the Pleasant Hill fire tower will enable fire fighting personnel to reduce the acreage burned by forest fires in Muhlenberg County." (The Dawson Springs Progress)
