May 13, 1972: "The National Weather Service recently presented a pin to Mrs. Trula Price in recognition of 20 years service as rainfall observer at the Liberty Hill Fire Tower near McCormick.
Mrs. Price began making rainfall observations for the Weather Service in January 1952, taking over from her husband, Joe Price, who observed from May 1946 to January 1952. The Prices also make other weather observations for the Forest Service,
In addition to rainfall reporting to the Weather Service in Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Price and her husband man the Liberty Hill Fire Tower at their home, Mr. Price for 30 years and Mrs. Price for 25 years." (The Index-Journal)

October 11, 1992: "Joe Butler Price, 81, husband of Trula Winn Price, of Liberty Hill Fire Tower, Hwy 378, McCormick, died Oct. 9, 1992 at Edgefield County Hospital.
He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a retired Forestry Technician with the U.S. Forestry Service, and was a dispatcher and Lookout at the Liberty Hill Fire Tower for 35 years." (The Index-Journal)
