May 4, 1937: "Forest Service towermen on duty in the Reddish Knob Fire Tower reported that 138 visitors registered at the lookout cabin during Saturday and Sunday.
There has been a steady increase in the number of visitors to this popular point since the tower has been opened for the annual fire season. Visitors the past week-end registered from Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia." (Harrisonburg Daily News Record)

October 14, 1960: "A two way radio and portable field telephone stolen from th U. S. Forest Service lookout tower at Reddish Knob has been located.
Three people, two of them juveniles, are being held by Princes Anne County Police, where the stolen property was found in their possession. It is expected the case will be presented for prosecution by the United States Attorney at Norfolk." (Daily News Record)
