This tower cost approximately $1,500." (State Department of Forestry Report for 1929)

The Coastal Plane region of frequent and damaging forest fires. The new tower was built primarily to aid in the control of fires in this region of high hazard. Cooperation was received in constructing this tower from the County Commissioners of Harford County, who contributed $300 toward the cost. Mr. Jesse A. Evans, of Aberdeen, contributed the site on which the tower is built." (State Department of Forestry Report for 1929)
