1936-37: "PARIS MOUNTAIN STATE PARK. Greenville County. This park of 1,275 acres is located some 4 miles north of the City of Greenville on the Greenville-Spartanburg State Highway. Available facilities include picnic areas, bathhouse, custodian's house, picnic and barbecue grounds, group camp for under-privileged children, trails, roads, and three lakes. A herbarium and public camping ground are being planned. A scenic road extends through the park to the top of the mountain where a firetower is located." 1937-38: "Additional towers and telephone lines were constructed during the year by the Civilian Conservation Corps at no cost to the State or protective associations. Seven new steel fire towers were erected, including Paris Mountain in Greenville County." (Report of the State Commission of Forestry, 7/1/1937 - 6/30/1938)

December 25, 2018: "An undisclosed buyer last week won an auction to purchase a shuttered lookout tower at Paris Mountain State Park. It was a bargain at just $3,300. The buyers have about seven days from the close of the sale to remove the tower from the property at the buyer's expense." (South Carolina Radio Network)
