HORSESHOE LAKE
Hiawatha National Forest
July 17, 1938: "Another feature of interest to forest users in this area, is the secondary fire tower erected on a hill east of Horseshoe Lake camp, from which the surrounding blueberry area will be under the surveillance of a Forest Service lookout in periods of hazardous weather. This is but one of three such towers erected this summer on the Rapid River District to supplement the regular fire tower system, the others being located near Round Lake and Schaawe Lake."
