On or before 1917: A 25-foot wooden tower erected on the Pocono Forest and surrounding area. (Observation Towers and Telephone Lines. December 31, 1917)
1918: "They also use what is known as the Bailey tower, which is twenty-five feet high and located near the Pocono Manor." (Chief Forest Fire Warden Report for 1918)
April 2, 1920: "Samuel T. DeHaven, at the Bailey tower near Pocono Manor." (The Scranton Republican)
May 20, 1926: "This fire started at Long Pond and so swift was its sweep that Pocono Manor was threatened. Included in the destruction was the giant fire tower at Bailey Park. This had been erected by the Pocono Forestry Association." (The Scranton Republican)
