June 30, 1927: "Charles Calkins, of Lake George, is keeper of the Windover fire tower this year, and has built a cabin near by, and during his spare hours while on watchman duty, he paints pictures, Mr. Calkins has a remarkable talent along this line and is also a great lover of the out-of-doors."
