May 10, 1928: "Mr. Lingren stated that the tower now located near Marenisco will be moved two and one-half miles due east from Marenisco and 20 feet more will be added making this tower 120 feet high and one of the highest in the Upper Peninsula." (Ironwood Daily Globe)
July 19, 1928: "The new fire tower completed. With a better location and higher elevation, the towerman will be able to notice or detect fires at a greater distance than in the old tower which was but 65 feet in height. This tower, which is, which is 1 1/2 miles from town, is located on the county road near Camp Nine. The towerman started to perform his regular duties in the new structure Wednesday." (Daily Globe)
July 21, 1928: "The removal of the old Marenisco fire tower has been completed and an addition of 27 feet added to the tower in its new location, according to Bert Haskins who visited the tower yesterday. The tower is now located one and a quarter miles east of Marenisco and about 100 rods off US 2. The old tower was 62 feet high and with the addition of 27 feet, makes it one of the highest in the county. It is now possible for the tower man to cover a wider range with the additional height and in the new location." (Ironwood Daily Globe)

THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 15 MILES SOUTHEAST OF WAKEFIELD,
9-1/2 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF WINEGAR AND 1-1/2 MILES EAST
OF MARENISCO.
TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 2 AND
STATE HIGHWAY 64 WHICH IS 0.6 MILE NORTH OF THE RAILROAD STATION
IN MARENISCO, GO EAST ON U.S. HIGHWAY 2 FOR 2.0 MILES TO A
CROSSROAD, TURN RIGHT AND GO SOUTH ON THE GRAVEL ROAD FOR 0.55
MILE TO A SIDE ROAD LEFT, TURN LEFT AND GO 0.25 MILE TO A
CIRCULAR DRIVEWAY AT THE END OF THE ROAD AND THE STATION 50
FEET EAST OF THE EAST SIDE OF THE DRIVEWAY.
A U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY BENCH MARK, STAMPED MARENISCO 1938 IS SET IN
THE CENTER OF THE BASE OF THE LOOKOUT TOWER, WHICH IS A 4 LEGGED
STEEL STRUCTURE ABOUT 85 FEET HIGH WITH AN ENCLOSED CAB ON THE TOP.
