December 3, 1933: "A steel tower 100 feet high is being erected on the old Baxley-Hazelhurst road by CCC camp Alabax P-62 which will serve as a post to detect forest fires and will be connected by telephone to Camp Alabax at Baxley to notify of any forest fire as soon as discovered.
