January 29, 1966: "Hart Construction Co., Sevierville, with a bid of $78,888, was apparently low for construction of a fire observation tower atop Lookout Rock, Great Smoky Mountain Park officials said Thursday.
Officials said Hart was also the apparent low bidder on underground utility facilities for the tower while Egli and Spradlen of Gatlinburg was low on a campground office to be built at the same site." (Kingsport News)

February 12, 1966: "The Department of the Interior has awarded a $71, 516 contract to Hart Construction Co. here to build a fire observation tower in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Rep. James H. Quillen said Thursday.
