1914: "The department erected a twenty-four foot steel tower on Hedgehog Mountain, which is in the Southwestern part of Township 15, Range 6, W.E.L.S. A house twelve feet by fourteen feet has been built at the foot of the Mountain at the side of a boiling spring of water, in which the watchman makes his home and where a supply of tools for fighting fires are kept on hand." 1915: "Cleared trail from camp to lookout station on Mt. Hedgehog." (1916 Forest Commissioner's Report)
1917: "J.M. Brown, Eagle Lake, Chief Warden, Fish River Territory: Lookout station at Hedgehog Mountain has been repaired, painted and put in good condition. Trails rebushed out." (Forest Protection and Conservation in Maine)
1920: Inventory show a 24-foot steel tower.
