August 20, 1936: "A new tower is now under construction three miles south of Ramsay. This will be placed in operation soon." (Daily Globe)
March 26, 1938: "Gogebic county NYA conservation crews for the past two months have been engaged in clearing the right of way for the Ramsay fire tower road, and in cleaning up the tower site south of Ramsay.
Brush and snag wood has been cut down and burned in preparation for actual road construction. As weather and ground conditions permit, stumps will be pulled, the road site grubbed and graveled, and culverts and drainage provided for." (Ironwood Daily Globe)
September 26, 1938: "A two mile long truck trail south of Ramsay to the fire tower is now being constructed by the United States Forest Service. Twenty Civilian Conservation camp employes from Camp Gogebic, five miles east of Marenisco, are employed on the job.
The road is single track with turnouts every 500 to 1,000 feet. The road is expected to be completed early in the spring, according to Ranger W.J. Brown of the Bessemer forest office." (Daily Globe)
